Hi Todd @toddkrein ,
I think I'm right in saying that we have no control over the 'SparkFun' libraries on library.io - or the set of libraries that come pre-bundled with Eagle. But I'll leave this issue open just in case anyone knows more about this.
Also, it is a sad day. Autodesk have just announced:
Effective June 7, 2026, Autodesk will no longer sell nor support EAGLE.
Until then, you will continue to have access, but upon that date, access to EAGLE will end.
Note this doesn't happen until 2026, but the clock is ticking...
Best wishes, Paul
Paul, Yes, that's exactly what prompted me to start looking into "Fusion 360 for Electronics," since I've been an Eagle user for 15+ years. The news isn't exactly as bad as it sounds, since F3fE really is just Eagle put inside F360. Almost all the commands and UI are the same. The one place where it really is different is in the library management, which was pretty awful in Eagle to begin with.
My first attempt at the integration was to build an enclosure for the QwiicScale board, which led me to find that the library version in Library.io was so old. I don't think that F3fE pre-bundles any of the Sparkfun libraries, but rather my installation picked them out of my Eagle install on my machine. I just can't figure out how to update those copies with the one from here.
Let me poke the Library.io folks, since having an updated set of Sparkfun libraries there would be a huge win, I believe.
OK, I pinged them and gave them a pointer to this thread. We'll see what happens.
It looks like the Eagle/Fusion 360 libraries on library.io haven't been updated in a long, long time. Is there a way to request that?
I'd be happy to help if someone can give me the right permissions.
Thanks, Todd
