None of the instructions on the tutorial or bug list correctly install on \na fresh OSX mavericks install. The added instructions work.

Thanks for submitting this PR! And apologies for taking so long to respond.

I believe that the current version of the installation tutorial captures a valid installation workflow for homebrew 0.95+. If you think they're deficient or could be clarified, I'd love to review a resubmission.
