I think we have this for Iridium and 4G, should also be implemeted for Xbee.
Actually we've it for Iridium and XBee, but not for 4G.
Actually we already had 4g test
. I have removed 4g test
, and now ping
does what 4g test
did.
So now the ping command works for the 3 networks. Though it does not exactly the same:
xbee: sends a package to the Pi, the package is discarded by the Pi, it doesn't reach the server. This code is also used by the rssimap
sketch.
4G: doesn't send a package, it tests the network connectivity and prints some info (network type, operator, rssi).
Iridium: sends a package to Iridium. Data from Iridium is not yet imported in the database, when done we will probably discard the ping package, like we do with xbee's ping.
add a command in the interactive menu to try sending a dummy frame to the server to test if whether or not there is direct connection.
