Our ASI SOC processing scripts are becoming increasingly difficult to use and maintain. The environment they run in contains near-duplicate versions of many processing tools, the syntax (e.g. array indexing) hasn't been updated to modern IDL conventions, and the logs are so full of warnings that it's difficult to use them for troubleshooting problems.
It seems to be time for a thorough refactoring, or perhaps a rewrite from scratch. Either way will probably require significant effort.
