Not working on Facebook #8

Hi and thanks for the great extension

I've setup the extension and it works when I use it on different websites. When I use it on Facebook (open any page and click "Start Listening") the configuration page pop ups and I get the message "Permission Denied". Even when I grant the audio permission again (and it works on other sites) the same things happens every time on Facebook.

I'm on Windows 11 and Chrome browser. Version 0.2.0 of the extension. Tried on another PC with a similar setup and got the same problem.

@datandm thank you for reporting the issue. I've tested it and got the same error. I will try to find why it happens and how to fix it. Meanwhile you can try to use listening in a side panel or in a popup window.

Tried using it with the side panel and working great meanwhile

I have an update about the issue. It happens with all domains which belongs to Meta. Such as facebook.com instagram.com whatsapp.com meta.com etc

Seems like they hardcoded their domains in Chromium to not allow using the Web Speech API there...

It has been temporary fixed. Now it doesn't show the incorrect error message about the mic access and just start listening in a popup window.
