Tips for the SiPM Module #52

Hi, Spencer!

I'm working to fix the SiPM Modules I assembled and I have some doubts. Maybe you can help me and more people:

1 - Which alumnium foil tape did you use at the module? Any specifications to share? I was using a default for domestic use, but it looks like too fragile. 2 - By studying the Sensl datasheet, I got wondering what would happened if we solder the pin 4. Do you have any tip about that. Why we don't use the pin 4 at the project? 3 - Is it possible to convert count to uSv/h?

Best regards, tks so much! Rogério.

Hi,

I use just household tin foil and it seems to work fine. You might be able to find a heavier grade foil if you find it too fragile.

The Datasheet for the SiPM says that Pin4 should not be connected, but it also says that it can be connected to the PCB ground. We leave it floating particularly because it makes the SiPM easier to remove from the PCB if there are any problems.

You should be able to convert it to radiation dose detector, but I think you will need to make some assumptions on the sources of radiation.

Thanks,

Spencer
