Transmission Protocol #6

I understand this repo is intended primarily for programming the RS-109M settings. However, I am struggling to find detailed information on the time-division protocol used by the transmitter and wondered if anyone involved here had info. I need to establish whether it is legal to use one of these on my sailboat in our area.

Does the transmitter conform to one of the AIS Class B time-division protocols?

  1. Class B CSTDMA 2W
  2. Class B+ SOTDMA 5W

The datasheet advertises 5W but there is no mention of SOTDMA, so I am confused. Unless it has no carrier sense and simply broadcasts, in which case it is not legal here as that is reserved for SOS signals.

This device transmits regardless of others. It is illegal to operate in almost all countries and even illegal to possess in some.

In case of emergency, you might (and should) not care, so it is up to you if you decide to carry such a thing on your boat. This thing is made for Chinese fishermen to find their fishing nets at sea or in, not to alarm SAR and nearby vessels to save lives.
