Alphabetical index for non-latin languages #1400

Is it possible to have per letter sections in index for non-latin languages? Right now I get "Symbols" sections for all cyrillic index entries while latin entries a grouped by letter

No. I've implemented "index key" feature for glossary since sphinx-1.4. http://www.sphinx-doc.org/en/stable/markup/para.html#glossary

However, index directive doesn't have the feature.
