Well, 1st of all seeing a WPF sample to achieve the same in Silverlight will 
not solve the problem. WPF can easily add reference to the Google API but 
Silverlight cant.
For Silverlight if you want to use Google API .dlls , you have to use a Web/WCF 
Service where you have to implement the API code. I am exactly trying the same 
a logged a problem with Issue ID: 137, where you can get the source code I 
designed.

We are not going to support Silverlight. We prefer to focus on WP, WinRT, etc.
