gzip embeds a timestamp in the compressed data unless the --no-name parameter is used

Thank you for reporting this and reminding me that I wanted to stop compressing the man page anyway. It should be the distribution packages job to compress the man page in whatever way they want.

Sorry for basically ignoring your improvement (and I was not really aware of --no-name), but not compressing at all is the better thing to do for man pages.
