sorry to write such an early issue, but I have to say this before it's too late :)

I know phpthumb is a well known project, but personally I never liked the "php" in the name "phpThumb", especially in the modx output filter/phx. why not just thumb? i.e. [[*myImage:thumb=w:300]]

Because that might conflict with future modx core implementations.
