Random Program Wallpaper Provider : add more customization options

Hi Mickael,

I had issues to get the random program wallpaper to work It was always the same picture, no matter how often I did reboot my homatics Box R 4k. Same issue on a CCGTV. Not sure why but It finally started working!_

Could it be possible to restrict these wallpapapers to channels in use or to some apps only?

Hi,

Seems to work fine here. Random programs are filtered to only get :

• aspect ratio : unknown, 16/9, 3/2, 4/3 (to limit the number of portrait mode pictures) (unknown is present though, because it's not rare that channels don't fill this information, without it, too many channels would be excluded)
• duration > 5 minutes to limit the number of low quality content Are you sure your available content matches this filter ? (to be sure, just enable categories/channels and check the cards thumbnails: do they have the expected ratio ?)

I might add a channel/app chooser in the future, but that's not done so easily as there's no native multiselect on Android Tv. Due to the time it would take to develop it, it's priority is low.

Great launcher man unreal. But the I have a folder of art that I tried to set as the background and it gives me a black screen, sometimes loads the default and sometimes loads one picture from the folder but thats it. The idle overlay isn't working for me but can't wait for the Google store release. Great job!

Another great feature if your going to have shortcuts, is to double click something to cycle through the backgrounds folder. Looking forward to trying to change the Lottie. If you could add a customisable logo for the app and splash screen I'd buy another premium. Well done again.

Hi Mickael,

I understand it is a low priority.

I have tested multiple settings And maybe the below suggestions could sort most of the issues I encountered with this random program option.

Issues:

Netflix, Disney or HBO Max cards are considered as bad ratio/quality. Looking sufficiently good to me on a 55" tv.

Too many bs recommendations from youtube.

Some apps like SkyShowtime/DAZN have numerous recommendation cards and their content end up being displayed too frequently.

Solutions:

The best would be a way to filter out some channels recommendations and will have to wait for it to be looked at eventually.

But may you raise the duration required? 15min+

Also lower the picture resolution requirements?

And if possible to get a limited amount of cards per app (20?)

Changed in upcoming 4.52 :

• Minimum accepted duration changed to 15min
• Ability to define a minimum width under which wallpapers will be considered low quality

I let other improvements (choosing Channels, limiting selection per channel) for the future
