self-help / subject headings #4

Out of pure self-preservation (as a likely contact for this if things go wrong), I’m appointing myself the checker of all things downloadable audio with regard to the new catalog… that gives me license to be a nit-picking ninnymuggins, right?

This is probably an issue on OneClick’s cataloging side of the equation, but when I open up the list of downloadable audiobooks (http://catalog.spokanelibrary.org/client/pub/search/results?qf=FORMAT%09Format%09E_SOUNDREC%09eAudiobook) and “Expand All” under “Subject” I see, for example, that self-help has 447 titles listed but further down the list there is a separate listing for SELF-HELP with 6 titles. Perhaps that’s the difference between talking yourself through a situation and screaming at yourself? I dunno but it would be nice to have such little hiccups cleared up. There are several instances like that were there seems to be an inconsistency between like subject headings.

If this is an issue on our end with our cataloging I’d be happy to go in and clean up this list and make sure that all self-help titles end up under either “self-help” or “SELF-HELP!!!”

Most likely a cataloging issue.
