Posts looks good. I have some confusion because I confirmed on Slack on Feb 22 that these posts would be written after the event. Did you change your mind?

Erioldoesdesign commented 2 years ago

@smithkelseyj it was actually less dev effort for me to write the holding posts than to 'hide' the posts or delete them and recreate them so I decided to write some text that is 'good enough for now'

Is that ok? I thought it was better to have something there than not and also better than deleting and recreating or making code that 'hides' the posts. I can delete them if you don't want them there. I suppose I just got 'ahead' of the work so to speak.

Delete it? No, don't do that! Your explanation makes sense. Just next time could you give that little explanation? I don't feel a part of the team when our decisions change without acknowledgment.

@smithkelseyj Just to clarify, you wanted me to ask you on slack for example, before I did this work ahead of the deadlines for it?

I think my understanding of that decision was we 'could' do them after the events but we 'could' also do them before the events. It was a 'could' and not a 'should'.

I think my concern generally here is what decisions need consensus before someone does some work on something which could be done? we don't have to arrive at a decision but noticing the tension I'm feeling about doing some work I thought needed doing ahead of the deadline but it not feeling useful or good.

No, I do not want you to ask me on slack before doing the work. This was the explanation I was referring to: "it was actually less dev effort for me to write the holding posts than to 'hide' the posts or delete them and recreate them so I decided to write some text that is 'good enough for now'" I appreciated it!
