I have just bought a used Holux GPSlim 236 and getting same issue as above i.e.
'Connection Failed! Please make sure that your Bluetooth GPS is still
discoverable.'
This is happening on two of my iDevices
a) iPhone4: iOS 7.1.2 running BTstack GPS 1.8
b) iPad3: iOS 7.1.2 running BTstack GPS 1.9
As further background info:
The Holux GPSlim 236 is connecting fine via Bluetooth to my Windows 7 laptop.
My Fortuna Clip-On GPS is still connecting fine to BTstack GPS.

I've made a fix which at least helps the original poster and submitted it to
Cydia/Bigboss. Give it a try tomorrow.

Hi Matthias,
Success, it works with my GPSlim now! Thank you very much for looking at this.
Love the app and your work.
I went to Cydia and your latest version of BTstack had been posted (0.9-1). I
updated on my iPad and works perfectly under BTstack GPS 1.9. Did the same on
my iPhone 4 and again works perfectly for the GPSlim under BTstack GPS 1.8.
Just for your information, after updating BTstack on both devices, it was still
not possible to connect to the GPSlim. I was still getting the same
'Connection failed' message on iPhone and iPad. However, after Respringing
both devices everything then worked perfectly. I'm no expert, but I'm
wondering if it therefore might be worth changing the prompt that appears in
Cydia after updating (currently "Return to Cydia") to "Respringing now". If
that's a possibility.
Anyhow, thank you again very much for doing this and your fantastic program.

julian: that's great. There's no robvious reason for a respring. The BTstack
daemon is restarted on install.
