Have you tried with ./mvnw clean package
? The reason nothing has been done (at least by me) is that I can't reproduce the problem.
I think it may have to do with the maven version. I just tried the mvn clean install -U with maven 3.3.9, and it downloaded correctly. It later failed with test failures, but I think that's something else.
That's why we use the maven wrapper ./mvnw
so we always use the right version of maven. I think this build requires rabbit. I just updated the readme to use ./mvnw
. All of our projects use it.
I have discussed this problem here: https://github.com/spring-cloud/spring-cloud-starters/issues/44. It's still not resolved.
In the interests of providing an example that is easily replicatable for you, I decided to try one of the examples. Downloading the current code from this project fails to build with the following error:
This was done with Maven 3.2.2, and I do not currently have a settings.xml file.
