The API for Open Handset Alliance's Android platform http://www.openhandsetalliance.com/ was released. It is hosted at http://code.google.com/android/

Given the scope of this project, it makes sense to have development support in Spring. This opens up Spring to a whole new deployment platform - the mobile space.

There is a separate Spring project for Android, http://www.springsource.org/spring-android

If this is still open issue, it's in wrong JIRA project, should be in https://jira.springsource.org/browse/ANDROID
