Review front end documentation #124

What

There's a lot of documentation and instructions on front end approach in various repos, in various states of development.

We need to determine:

Why

We want to consolidate as much as possible and then rewrite and restructure so that this content is clearer and easier to maintain.

Some of this content could better serve people as part of a get started section.

Done when

[ ] We've reviewed the various docs [ ] We've discussed with Alex K, Ben C, anyone else we think may have insight [ ] We've decided what to keep and rework [ ] We've decided what to leave where it is [ ] We've decided what to delete

as this is (mostly) for the single release, new docs site, and new repo - perhaps it's best to stick the issue there?
