Status: "changed to Warn: Inverter 0 write to pause_mode failed" #1490

Describe the bug I noticed this status for last few days, possibly following updating.

Expected behavior A clear and concise description of what you expected to happen.

Not have the error message in status. As far as I can tell predbat is still working.

Predbat version 8.4.9/1.2.1 xxxx

This status indicates that Predbat did not get the correct response from the inverter when it sent a command to GivTCP.

either possibly an underlying network problem to your inverter (e.g. poor wifi), or that the inverter for some reason is rejecting the command.

Have a look at the givtcp log file and see if there are other error messages in there that could indicate a network problem

If that looks OK, then try resetting the inverter to defaults in the Givenergy portal as that may clear the inverter from rejecting the command.

I get these messages very occasionally, they are only a warning, and predbat will retry 5 minutes later when it next runs so as long as they are not happening all the time then it can probably be safely ignored

Thanks. I'll look at that and update. Inverter is on ethernet so shouldn't be network issues unless it has switched back to WiFi somehow. We had a power cut as electric network replaced a cable on our road so possible something got reset.

The inverter is still on ethernet and no obvious connection issues. Can't see any logs in GivTCP but maybe they get wiped after a restart?

I tried resetting the inverter to defaults.

Seems odd that the only command that doesn't get through to the inverter is the write to pause_mode.

If I'm the only one having the issue it sounds like it's a local issue rather than a bug so feel free to close and I'll keep trying to work out what's wrong.
