It is suprising to me that you can't mark an item in the right click menu. I would set the current right clic menu as an info submenu in the current left click context menu, and alway display the left click menu.
This way all the actions are always available and the most used ones (marking) are easier to use.
I'd keep the current behavior for displaying the context menu: always on right clic and on left click on the check column.
