conda update spyder
pip
spyder --reset
In the dataframe editor, I often notice that sorting a column scrolls the view horizontally.
df = pd.DataFrame({f'long_column_name_{c}':2*['long_text_value'] for c in range(20)}|{'sort_me':[3,2]}, index=[0,1])
df
I expect the horizontal scoll position to be kept at sorting, which does not happen.

Hey @jondo, thanks for reporting. We'll try to fix this in our 5.2.0 version, to be released in mid October or so.

Problem Description
In the dataframe editor, I often notice that sorting a column scrolls the view horizontally.
What steps reproduce the problem?
df = pd.DataFrame({f'long_column_name_{c}':2*['long_text_value'] for c in range(20)}|{'sort_me':[3,2]}, index=[0,1])
df
in the dataframe editor and scroll to the right. you see:What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect the horizontal scoll position to be kept at sorting, which does not happen.
