Graphic scaling issue #20253

Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

I frequently connect and disconnect a 1080p Monitor to my lenovo E14 laptop and put the laptop to sleep/hibernate.

Now with disconnected monitor Spyder suddenly has scaling issues, the whole IDE is zoomed/scaled/enlarged. I restarted the laptop, i reset Spyder to factory settings, but Spyder still "thinks" a monitor is attached???

EDIT: it seems "windows scaling" at 150% for laptop screens is causing the issue. Spyder does not compensate for that scaling and appears enlarged...

Hey @Han4332a, thanks for reporting. You need to adjust Spyder's setting for high DPI screens, which are present it the menu

Tools > Preferences > Application

Thank you very much, that did it. I set the "screen resolution" to "Normal" (it was "enable auto high DPI scaling") and the font appears in normal size again. However, in the past it used to adjust automatically to laptop/external screen and only recently it stayed zoomed in. Leaving Spyder running while plugging/unplugging the screen and hybernating the PC might have caused the bug?

Yeah, that could be the problem. We plan to improve that use case in the first Spyder version we plan to release next year.
