External system terminal crashing and weird behavior #21603

Closed sinisadruzeta closed 10 months ago

Issue Report Checklist

Problem Description

Running any script in external system terminal results in terminal weird behavior and crashing.

What steps reproduce the problem?

  1. Set "Execute in an external system terminal" option and optionally the "Interact..." checkbox in Run -> Configuration per file...
  2. Run any script with the option(s) set as said above.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

If the "Interact..." checkbox is NOT checked, the external terminal does not do anything for a couple of seconds and then the prompt waits for further interaction in the working directory. If the "Interact..." checkbox IS checked the terminal also waits a couple of seconds and then crashes.

OK, found the problem. I specified pythonw.exe for the interpreter instead of python.exe. Weird that it worked for the consoles in Spyder.
