Hey @virvw, thanks for reporting. This error is fixed in our latest version (5.5.5), but it seems it's not available yet in MNE.

@larsoner, could you confirm that?

larsoner commented 1 month ago

In the Versions above it says Spyder version: 5.5.0 (conda) -- @virvw did you conda update spyder sometime in the last couple of months?

I can't remember what our 1.6.0 installer shipped with but it would have been older than 5.5.5 for sure.

ccordoba12 commented 1 month ago

@virvw did you conda update spyder sometime in the last couple of months?

@larsoner, so users can run conda in MNE? In that case we can treat it like any other Conda distribution.

larsoner commented 1 month ago

Yeah our installer is just a conda-constructed env with a bunch of stuff installed, including Spyder at least in our older versions.

ccordoba12 commented 1 month ago

Ok, that's really good to know.

@virvw, then you need to run

conda install spyder=5.5.5

to fix your problem.

That's better than running

conda update spyder

because it'll only update Spyder, instead of bringing many other (perhaps undesired) updates.
