Help Spyder dialog is shown at every startup #22457

Description

What steps will reproduce the problem?

  1. Start spyder 6, observe that the help spyder dialog box always appears and there is no obvious way to stop it in future startups.

Ok, so I'm all in for encouraging users to contribute financially to spyder's development and totally get this is necessary for developing new features. But I've signed up and I'm paying my monthly contribution, can I get a pass on the dialog box appearing on each startup please?

Hey @gb119, thanks for reporting. That was an oversight on our side, i.e. the dialog should have been opened once (at the fifth startup) and no more.

We'll fix that in 6.0.1, to be released next week.
