Reproduce the problem: open spyder on default settings (cell highight on)
Problem: When multiple lines are highlighted in the editor, there is a 'thin' gap between highlighted lines. similar to https://stackoverflow.com/questions/64545735/spyder-4-1-5-code-cell-function-change-highlight-appearance
However, solution mentioned in older versions of spyder (adjusting DPI scales, setting DPI to auto, & normal screen resolution settings) are not working in the current version:
