These are some good questions, but unfortunately I think it is outside of Spyder's scope to feasibly fix them. The two elements that appear outside the window seem to be context menus and tool tips, and this behavior is happening for me in several other applications as well (testing on Mac with Zoom, Firefox, and TextEdit).
We discussed if context menus and tool tips should calculate the window size and place themselves in different places relative to the cursor so they always fit within the window, but this doesn't necessarily solve it either. Some of the longer context menus can easily be larger than a Spyder window if it is not full screen, so they would have nowhere to go.
Since this isn't quite a bug and follows the patterns of other applications, we'll have to leave it be for now. Thanks for understanding!
I was reviewing @nerohmot screen-cast plugin and having these kind of elements in the interface causes a problem since they stay out of the recording.
Some questions:
Is this something we want to fix from the Spyder's side? Are there any other problems that we could think of related to this behaviour? Is this behaviour desired?
