A browser extension that automates skipping ad on Youtube. This is not an ad blocker, it just automates the process of clicking on the "Skip Ad" button on Youtube.

How can I install version 2.0.1 ? Thanks

squgeim commented 8 months ago

Hi! 2.0.1 is available on Chrome and Edge. They usually auto-update extensions when the browser is restarted. Firefox is on version 0.5.2 because it uses Manifest v2 but all patches for breaking changes on YouTube has been back-ported to that version.

Thanks for the information.

Unfortunately, the add-on does not work in Firefox. It won't click the skip button. No error will appear.

I think it would also like to give some click delay when the skip button appears. Maybe it detects click response speed.

PŠ.

sorry for the stupid question, but what does it mean. I Just started using firefox because chrome is getting slow and crash the KDE desktop, and while the extension is installed on firefox, it is greyed out and none of the buttons show up or segments get skipped. Does it mean it wont work on FF because of the Mv3 thing?

squgeim commented 7 months ago

@toppits The extension should work on Firefox. The issue with manifest 3 just means some newer features aren't available on Firefox, but the core ad skipping is there.

Could you please take a screenshot of what you mean by extension is greyed out?

Please note that ads are only skipped if there is a "Skip ad in 5secs" present. Full length ads cannot be skipped.
