I had this reply yesterday from Paul Lamford of gamblingbook

Paul Lamford Indeed there are things that would be useful and I think that the analysis of the percentage wins of home teams and the attendance in football would be one factor that I don't think has been done. The data is probably all out there. We would make a small payment for that as well!

Would this make a suitable capstone project? It is interesting.

This sounds interesting. We can make your goal to predict winning of the home team based on whatever statistics you can get on the matches. How is it with access to the data? Did you find anything specific? if so, how much history do you have available?
