I have also successfully added and updated about 27 shared contacts, and
although
more than 48 hours have passed, they are not showing up in the Contact Manager
as the
script’s usage page implies they should. I’m now going to try to get domain
support.

Were either of you successful in finding a solution to this problem? I'm
experiencing the same issue.

It turns out that there were two separate issues. The first was that I was
looking for the shared contacts in the
wrong place. The only way to find them is to open the Contacts application, and
then enter a value in the Search
field at the top of the page and click the Search button. Once I started doing
it that way, I could find some of the
shared contacts.
Most of them load fine. However, about a quarter of them are showing up without
most of their data even when
accessed this correct way. I have a support ticket open with the Google core
team, but so far no answer has been
found.

this is really bad that they haven't worked these problems out before taking
Google
Apps out of beta. =/

this is pathetic - we're supposed to hire someone to add our data cause it's soo
complicated?? Maybe google ought to hire someone from apple so they can show
google
how to make it so ordinary people can use the service - ordinary people other
than
wizards or techie nerds. and how again is this going to be competitive??? AND
WITH
WHO??? MAYBE some dip slime in North Korea who is still using an abacus?? Gee,
real
threatening

I tried the Profile API as well, and am still not having any luck with the goal
of getting our staff home addresses
and phone numbers to be available in the Contacts interface. I really hope the
bugs can be shaken out, and an
end-user web interface delivered soon, so that as you say, ordinary
administrative staff can take care of the
updates, and they will simply work.

Same issue. The script runs fine but nothing shows up in Gmail's contact which
is
where I want my shared contacts to appear in the first place ( not the contact
application )

It's ok. My contacts show up now. It seems a few hours are needed for the
update to
occur. It would be great to automatically add those contacts to a group so
searching
would be easier.

Dude ! The contacts are not showing up for me either. Wait a minute. Scratch
that,
back that up. The contacts do show up but the email address does not.
Any reason why?
