Closed GoogleCodeExporter closed 8 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 8 years ago
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. register to paid sip provider
2. place a call
3. silence
4. other side answer
5. both sides hear each other with good quality

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
I expect for ring-back tone, in step: 3 instead silence.

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
1.3.7
CM 4.2.13

Which SIP server are you using? What happens with PBXes?
orange, Israel.
with PBXes I can hear ring-back tone, but quality very bad because of large
latency (12%)

Which type of network are you using?
3G, WIFI

Please provide any additional information below.

You might have your media volume muted. Sipdroid does not change volumes before
a call
is established.

Another reason might be that the SIP server you are using does not send a 180
ringing
packet.

I also have this issue. I use sipgate.de, with other sip clients (on the pc) it
works as
expected

This sounds like sipdroid is not handling SIP 180 (Ringing) and 183 (Session
Progress) messages properly. When 183 is sent, RTP audio should be available
describing the progress of the call (announcement, ringing, message etc) before
the
call is answered - i.e. early audio. In the UK, early audio is quite often
used to
present ring tone as well on SIP<-->PSTN gateways so it is important that
sipdroid
plays early audio as the caller may not hear the correct tones or ringing.

I'm also using sipgate and there's no ringing while doing an outgoing call.
Using
latest 1.3.10.

I am using voip.ms directly (no pbxes.org involved) and also get no ringback.
FWIW,
sipagent does provide ringback when calling the same number.

This patch adds support for early media (180/183 with SDP), although not fully
tested.

Looks good to me.

Have you seen the latest market comments on force closes? Maybe they result
from your
latest changes for issue 232?

I have committed the patch to r448 with a little modification.

Regarding force close, I found a bug on r436 and fixed on r447.
But I'm not sure this resolves force closes, because modification on r447 are
limitted to cases of receiving calls.

I have same problem too. Our Office has a PBX(AddPac). My phone try to register
to the
PBX, but I couldn't hear ringback-tone when I'd a outgoing call. My coworker
say.
(Maybe the "sipdroid" app can't support 183 session progress.) and our PBX send
RTP
Packet when I have a call. so that is not our PBX. right??

Not fixed.

No ringback tone if I call a number which is using VoiP (e.g. unitymedia).
Additionally sipdroid crashes if I try to hang-up such a call.

No problem if I am calling POTS numbers.

fixed for me, I'm even hear now "FUNTONE", music as ringback-tone, so I think
it's
O.K now.

I made now 10 calls to this Voip number (hosted by Unitymedia). 6x sipdroid was
freezing and before that I didnt hear a ringback tone. 4x I heard the ringback
tone and
Sipdroid did not crash. Every time the phone on the other end was ringing.
