Will need to decide:

how authorities are stored: as XML files, shredded in DB, as XML in DB, indexable portions only in DB??
what paths to use: e.g. /ga/28/1/2/3 or /authorities/generals/28/versions/1/terms/1/terms/2/classes/3 or both (short and long form).
how to handle other stuff: e.g. contextual elements, indexes, registration elements.

Hi Nott - I'm adding you to this issue - you'll do a better job with it & I should be doing much less 'development' myself :) We should however meet at some point so I can talk you through the appraisal workflow at SRNSW and also the XML schema and associated applications (Authority Editor, Authority Register etc.). This one will be quite a big job but you should also have a much cleaner slate to design the best solution. cheers Richard
