5 years ago @Adimote you've previously owned label printers, do you have any recommendations?
@richardbarlow I think you did the labelling which produced the plasticised labels with the 1d barcodes on then; I think that style are probably ideal (in my experience they scan most easily and tend to last a bit longer by being plastic too): do you have a reference for the printer you used for those?

5 years ago For SRO, we use a DYMO Labelwriter 450, which is significantly better than the brother one that SR have borrowed from us in the past.
A major advantage of the DYMO over the Brother model is that it will accept PDFs and uses standard drivers. Meanwhile, the Brother model requires a proprietary binary format that is very difficult to work with.
Polypropylene labels are available (https://www.amazon.co.uk/DYMO-Durable-Label-Pack-160/dp/B01LZIMM8V) and we have been using them for the last few months. They are not cheap, but are definitely worth the extra cost in my opinion.
Another model to consider, that I would like to buy for SRO is the DYMO LabelMaker PnP (https://www.amazon.co.uk/Dymo-S0915390-Label-Manager-silver/dp/B004G6NVKU/ref=sr_1_1?keywords=dymo+usb&qid=1564495960&s=officeproduct&sr=1-1). It is much like a more standard label maker, albeit with a USB interface. The tapes are plastic, although I cannot vouch for it's ability to print barcodes.
