About /data/tei/872.xml: Wright reports in the PDF (https://archive.org/details/catalogueofsyria02brituoft/page/548/mode/1up?view=theater) that the two volumes Add. 17,210 and Add. 17,211 require double description; viz. as separate Greek Palimpsests (A. Add. 17,210 and B. Add. 17,211) and as a single Syriac manuscript (C. Add. 17,210-211).

1st issue: Previous editing has added lower parts to the three above mentioned descriptions making thus the manuscript consisting of 5 parts. However, the URI provides only three shelfmarks on the website And, the final ms URI https://bl.syriac.uk/ms/1567 seems to have a typo (1467?)

2nd issue: The excel sheet provides the following division: Add. 17,210, lower text | Part2 Add. 17,211, foll. 1–48, lower text | Part3_1 Add. 17,111, foll. 49–53, lower text | Part3_1_1 Add. 17,211 | Part1 Add. 17,211, lower text | Part3 Are the provided shelfmark numbers congruent with the parts of the manuscript? If so, shouldn't there be an upper text for Add. 17,210?

3rd issue: There is a footnote appended to the note on the principal cited authorities in the ms that contains special characters that cannot be displayed. See PDF (https://archive.org/details/catalogueofsyria02brituoft/page/549/mode/1up?view=theater) and Xpath: /TEI/teiHeader/fileDesc/sourceDesc/msDesc/msPart/msContents/msItem/note, line 155 in XML. (The characters have been symbolized by %)

4th issue: Among the planned changes in the description of the XML, there's a note on answering the question in word document, should this remark be deleted?

As I almost finished the file, few things became clear.

1-Add. 17,210, lower text URI: https://bl.syriac.uk/ms/1463 (DCLXXXVII. A) 2-Add. 17,211 fol. 1-48 URI: https://bl.syriac.uk/ms/1464 (DCLXXXVII. B) This part is called the lower text in XML. (See Xpath: /TEI/teiHeader/fileDesc/sourceDesc/msDesc/msPart/head/listRelation/relation/desc) Shouldn't be called upper text? 3-Add. 17,211 fol. fol. 49-53 is the lower text URI: https://bl.syriac.uk/ms/1465 4-Add. 17,211 URI: https://bl.syriac.uk/ms/1466 (DCLXXXVII. C) 5-Add. 17,211, lower text URI: https://bl.syriac.uk/ms/1567 (DCLXXXVII. B)

It seems there was a typo in the XML (Xpath: /TEI/teiHeader/fileDesc/sourceDesc/msDesc/msPart/msPart/head/listRelation/relation/desc) line 624 and other references. The contents of 17,211 and 17,111 totally differ and this was also copied in the excel sheet.

Yet still the question, shouldn't there be an upper text for Add. 17,210?

Thanks @DA-Gharib it sounds like this may be one that Dave and I will need to look at closely. I think what may be happening is that the record for Add. 17,211, URI: https://bl.syriac.uk/ms/1466 (DCLXXXVII. C) is in fact supposed to be Add. 17,210+Add.17,211 and the shelfmark is just listed incorrectly -- i.e., it should be "Add. 17,210 upper text + Add. 17,211 upper text"?

I think that when Wright describes the two shelfmarks "as Greek palimpsests" he means their undertext, so we get:

Looking at our outline of parts, though, there does seem to be oddities that Dave and I will need to fix. If you can make sure that we are not missing any description from Wright, we will go over this one and make sure the parts are in the right places.

Thanks Will, I already submitted the file after revision and did another quick revision. Will leave the issue open in this case for your follow-up.

Thanks
