Discussed in https://github.com/srwi/EverythingToolbar/discussions/331

Originally posted by **Indeedornot** February 17, 2023 I have just installed the newest version of ET and was excited to try out the Replace Start Menu Search option, however when i open it using windows button and start inputting stuff, it opens however only takes in few keystrokes, before i have to refocus it manually I am using Everything 1.5a (with a fix applied), ET 1.0.2 and Windows 11 22H2 https://user-images.githubusercontent.com/49447848/219657291-0e725ec8-edb9-4ac9-81af-bedd9be94702.mp4

Happening to me as well fresh install of Windows and thought hey might try it out and its not focusing the search box so I don't think its any external software. It lets me put in one letter before focusing back to my previous application if that's any help.

Just wanted to chime in that this is still happening. Just did a fresh install of Everything and the toolbar.

Can confirm, same use case as yours.

It doesn't make sense to make a fresh install of Everything when you have problems with the Toolbar.

Same for me

I would like to fix this as part of a complete rewrite of the feature since it appears to be causing various issues. The current implementation is very hacky and not very robust as you can see (still works perfectly fine on my machine).

So if anybody has a good idea of how to reimplement the start menu replacement, please let me know. Concrete technical details would be much appreciated.
