How are you switching to grid view before it reverts? Which menu? I'll test on my machine.
Did you change the hidden setting saveMenuDisplayMode
?
Can you export and upload your config here or email me at contextsearch.webext@gmail.com for me to test?
Also, can you verify other settings are being saved and working correctly. When you change the view setting from grid to text, do you see the ( Saved ) notice at the top of the options page?
i don't lknow what savemenudisplaymode is i see "saved" message but i found out that also in toolbar (same setting grid/text)
If you haven't already, export your CS config so I can examine your exact settings sometime to try to find the bug.
After that, you can try using the toggle view tool, or shortcut, to switch from grid to text, and not have to rely on the setting in the options page.
Either enable the Toggle View tool from CS Options -> Quick Menu -> Tools
or
Enable the Toggle View shortcut from CS Options -> Shortcuts -> toggleDisplayMode and use the keyboard shortcut while the quick menu is open and focused.
Then try restarting Vivaldi and see what that does.
Ok, I've found the bug. It will be fixed in the next release
news?
Oof, did this fix not make it into the release version?
i still have the bug both on Firefox and Vivaldi
K, I'll see what i can dig up in the dev code. Might be a bit; I have a lot going on right now, but i'll keep you updated.
ok it's not super important because on my main browser (Firefox) i use a different extension (less features but much easier to add new search engines, sorry)...but i still use it on Vivaldi and i use this browser every day too. if it can help you, i noticed that same behavior happens with the toolbar icon, not only with the quick menu. i never use the toolbar icon so i never noticed before.
ok, this should be fixed in the master branch and will be in the next release
v1.46.14 going up
i have this bug that every time i restart Vivaldi browser the view of my menu go back to "text" but i want it to be "grid"
