I have enabled "Set focus to search bar when the Quick Menu is opened" and disabled "Select all text in the search bar when it receives focus"
In this case the text field is not focused. I have to manually click it with the mouse to be able to enter text with the keyboard.
Addition: I have just tested it in another profile. It works there correctly. So I have to investigate how to reproduce it. Sorry!
