Preface I have been playing around with the idea of writing a blog post series about my Ansible roles for quite a while now. Not only to ‘promote’ my Ansible roles, but also to show case how extremely flexible Ansible really is. Often times people think of Ansible as “just another configuration management tool”. While this is absolutely true, Ansible - in my opinion - is so much more than that. Ansible is great in automating a series of tasks across multiple systems - that is really the strength of Ansible.

Hi Steffen,
I was able use this role on Debian 12 under the following conditions:

I need to install the package syslinux-utils which provides the binary /usr/bin/isohybrid
I set validate_kickstart to false as I was not in the mood to mess with python packages ;-)

Awesome, thanks for letting me (and possibly others) know that this role works as well on Debian.

I won't however add 'official' support for it, as I otherwise have to deal with the Python packages and I foresee that this will create headaches in the long run 🤣

I think most people will use the role on RHEL anyway .. if it is even used by someone else but my colleagues 🫣
