visitor/sample counter

Again a very '90s idea, but for grant writing purposes would it make sense to implement a visitor counter?

Possibly this should be restricted to the admin interface for internal use only. Longer term we might want to implement something like the sample counter (see https://www.[molecularneuropathology.org/mnp/](https://www.molecularneuropathology.org/mnp/) - though not at the start, it hardly inspires confidence to be sample 1...

I haven't seen a visitor counter in decades :-) But for grant writing purposes a visitor count can be extracted from the server logs.

And a sample counter would be straightforward to integrate once relevant
