Some pictures are not displayed when they are before the text

What steps will reproduce the problem?
Go to a page that has a picture between the title and the article, for example: 
http://arstechnica.com/open-source/news/2010/07/first-look-new-ubuntu-font-boost
s-linux-typography.ars

What is the expected output?
The picture should be visible in the same place as the original page, between 
the title and the article.

What do you see instead?
The picture is not showed.

Operating system:
Ubuntu 10.04 amd64, but probably is OS independent

Please provide any additional information below. Attach a screenshot if
possible.
