Would love to be able to easily toggle/mute sounds. Either all sounds or just the engage/disengage. Sometimes it's a bother when passengers are sleeping.

A quick hack is to overwrite /data/openpilot/selfdrive/assets/sounds/[engage|disengage].wav with a silent.wav

silent.wav.txt Confirmed working hack, thanks a ton for the idea! Uploading a silent/empty wav file here that I generated using audacity listening to a null-ish input.
