timing of script / scan needs to be adjusted slightly to fully squash this bug. please report any instances of this occurring via your preferred communication method.

resolved 99.9% of the time

reopening because it's really inconsistent and difficult to reproduce, but noteworthy imo

should be resolved with 3.0, switched from nconvert to imagemagik.
