HTC Thunderbolt

Have tried several ROMS/Radios. Including Rooted Stock, OMFGB, CM7, BAMF, etc..

Have tried several different version of Wireless Tether. 2.0.7 - 3.1B6.

The issue is that I can tether to my PC, but after what seems like a random
period of time, I lose internet and have to reset the data connection on the
phone. Once reset, it works fine until I lose Internet again and have to reset
the data.

I've seen other posts about similar issues, but all of these describe the phone
actually losing the 3G/4G data signal. My phone still shows that I am connected
to 3G/4G when this happens, however I can't send/receive data from the phone or
tethered device.

The issue gets worse when I have multiple devices connected. Or in my case, I
connect my wireless router as a client, and have a few computers hard wired
into the router. When connected this way, Internet only lasts a few minutes. If
I connect just one tethered computer, it can last up to an hour or so.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with Wireless Tether, or Verizon. I did not
seem to have this issue a few months back. I have tried every method I could
think of to resolve the issue. Including trying several ROM/Radio Combinations
with all different versions of wifi tether. I have even had the phone replaced.

Another thing to note is, once my internet drops, I can still ping remote
websites. ie. google.com

Anyone have any idea what's going on? Is Verizon cracking down somehow maybe?

I have the same issue with both an HTC Inc and an Inc2 on Verizon.

Sometimes tether lasts a few hours, most times it lasts a few minutes. I can
usually get it to reconnect if I toggle "airplane mode."
