hTC Rezound ICS: Wireless Tether stops passing traffic #1473

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Which device (manufacturer, type)?
-hTC Rezound (ADR6425)

Which firmware is installed?
-4.0.3 (Scott's CleanRom 4.2 based on 3.11.605.22 leak)

What version of wireless tether are you using?
-3.1 beta 11
What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Device Profile: Samsung Galaxy Nexus (CDMA/LTE)
2. Setup method: netd (master)/infrastructure
3. Enable routing fix

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
-Wireless Tether works properly for some time via both 4G LTE or 3G, then stops
passing traffic. Ping works, but HTTP requests time out. There is no
particular duration to proper operation before the connection stops responding;
it seems to be random. Connection can usually be reestablished by restarting
Wireless Tether, but occasionally the phone must be rebooted as well. Data
generally still works on phone, but occasionally will refuse to pass data
traffic at all, making reboot necessary.

Please provide any additional information below.
-Device profile works beautifully on this phone; speeds are great when it
works. Use of encryption has no effect. Connection will not pass traffic if
any other device profile is used, or if routing fix is not enabled.

We will need more information to follow up, it could possible be a new method
of blocking traffic from Verizon, it could also be another application flushing
your iptables rules while tether is active. Could you pull a logcat during a
tethering session and then post back any errors or warnings that stand out.
Also an iptables -L would help while tether is running while both working and
after the issue occurs. Thanks!

I will try to pull a logcat, but so far 3.1 b14 has been running smoothly
without issues. Device profile set to Samsung Galaxy Nexus (CDMA/LTE).
