Which device (manufacturer, type)?
HTC Droid Incredible (first version)

Which firmware is installed?
GB 2.3.4, rooted by downgrade to Froyo/unlock/root, then restore saved GB and
re-root (as per
http://androidforums.com/incredible-all-things-root/531353-how-unlock-downgrade-
achieve-s-off-htcdev.html)

What version of wireless tether are you using?
newest from Google Play, 3.2-beta

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.trying to connect to wifi only iPad 3
2.wifi tether opens fine and starts the wifi signal
3.iPad sees the wifi signal (strengh ranges from low of -5 to high of -40),
gets an IP address from the phone, but have not been able to load a single
webpage before the server that the iPad is trying to connect to times the
connection out

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
wifi tether worked fine with the iPad with the phone with rooted Froyo 2.2
before i restored back to GB 2.3.4

Please provide any additional information below.
i queried several websites to ask if wifi tether was going to work if i
restored back to GB 2.3.4 from Froyo 2.2 and the responses were all in the
affirmative.

i don't mind using an earlier version of wifi tether if that will resolve the
problem. i only went with the latest on Google Play b/c i am not famiiar with
how to install the earlier version .apk files on my phone

UPDATE: After uninstalling and redownloading/installing, it seems to be
working now.
