Tethering started with Errors? #1835

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

GoogleCodeExporter commented 9 years ago
Motorola Droid Razr

Jellybean - 98.72.16.X912.Verizon.en.US

2.0.7 - the newest in Google Play Market

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1.Open Wireless Tether
2. Start Tethering
3.

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

Tethering Started with errors. Please check 'Show log'. When I go to look at
the log, it gives me the message ' Unable to open log-File. File does not
exist!'

Please provide any additional information below.
I have done a reset to factory settings, a complete wipe and re-root of the
phone, and it still gives me this error. I had this working for months with no
issue until the middle of last week when it just started acting up. Another
strange thing is that I have tried Barnacle Tethering as well as FoxFi (paid
version), and have had no success in getting them to tether. I also tried Open
Garden and it also fails at tethering.

Any ideas?

I tried the SQLite Editor hack and was able to get some sites to work via the
stock WiFi app.. It's still nowhere near as good as when I had WiFi tether
working, so hopefully there will be a fix soon.

Also, I just tried the new WiFi Tether for Root Users 3.4-experimental1 build
that came out 9 days ago, and it had no change. I made some screenshots of the
log as well as the app after I have attempted to start tethering. It just sits
there with 0.0 data in/out. I remember that even if it wasn't connected to a
device, it would always have something in there (I assume it is the phone
sending the SSID or something).

I had the same problem after I updated OTA update 4.3 on Sprint Samsung Galaxy
S3 and I had to reroot my phone and even though I did, it pops up with an
error. The app needs to be updated for Galaxy S3 4.3 to work. I hope someone
fixes this issue.
