Enhancement - making NetTiers Microsoft StyleCop compliant? #76

Open GoogleCodeExporter opened 9 years ago

Microsoft has recently released StyleCop for source code analysis:
http://code.msdn.microsoft.com/sourceanalysis/

I think it would be great if NetTiers could be changed to produce code
that pass (most of) the StyleCop validations so that the project maintains
a consistent coding style and any new additions /enhancements can be
validated automatically.
Please note that I don’t fully agree with all the validation rules and the
coding style imposed by this tool but the negatives IMO would be out
weighted by the benefits of a consistent standard within the project.

Hi,

We are using NetTiers with CodeSmith and Microsoft StyleCop.

The problem is to ignore NetTiers generated files from StyleCop (since NetTiers
code
is not compliant with Stylecop)

There are different ways to ignore generated files by StyleCop (see :
http://sergeyshishkin.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!9F19E53BA9C1D63F!253.entry)

None of the ways described by the site above are easy to set with auto-generated
files from NetTiers (or if you have an easy and maintanable one.. let me know)

If NetTiers could give an option to let Stylecop ignore NetTiers's
auto-generated
files, it would be a very good thing.

For example if all files generated could have "//<auto-generated/>" in its
header..
