RDA and Primo 4 #51

Move to RDA from AACR - need to check that details from display in Primo, especially authors and publications details, still pull in correctly.

Need to check pull in from Primo 4 works (part of Primo 4 project)

Primo 4.2 will have RDA support built in, but we won't be going to 4.2 immediately.

Readinglists are included in the project thinking for both RDA and Primo 4 so should be covered, testing will be needed.

First RDA pre-publication record has arrived! Details are below.

Points to note:

*extra comma after author's name - suspect is to do with extra field on end now saying author/illustrator - likelihood is this will be fixed on primo as not needing to show (in longer term may indicate author/editor so could be useful in alpeh?)

*publication place and publisher will need to be included and show

*editions - these will be spelt out and are unlikely to be able to be transformed into numeric values on primo - not necessarily a hugh problem - if the reading list pull-in says the whole sentence, we can then quickly change this to a numeric value by manual editing (and students will probably have to do this in refworks too).

Cataloguing department hope to have more RDA full records in a couple of weeks and will keep us posted on any differences.

04/12/13 - deadline for Primo 4 is February so we should test by end of January - LS to confirm
