Can't restart CANDLE engine's reactor #38

Open XANi opened 8 years ago

XANi commented 8 years ago

After leaving it off for longer period of time (like warping to next node) it can't be reactivated by any option while piloting and EVA option "manual restart" also doesn't work: http://imgur.com/a/zl7M1

It should also have an option to activate it without EVA as that would make it more useful for small unmanned probes

tested on KSPI 1.6.1

The CANDLE engine is not supposed to b able to be restarted. That the whole point of this reactor, you activate it once and it burns up like a candle.

I guess I described it poorly, what I meant is that it automatically goes into decay even tho it still has the fuel (as on screenshot, almost full), so it isn't "start it then burn till the end of fuel" but "start it then turn off automatically way before fuel ends"

It creates problem when for example I had maneuver node in few days it would just go into decay before I manage to warp to it

And last time I've checked candles can be restarted :) But that's beside the point.

mmm, the engine is never allowed to stop unless it runs out of uranium. At loat it is supposed to always reinitialise itself to fuel burning state unless it was never activated or out of fuel. It is supposed to be able to send as a probe to the edge of the solar system and have enough power for several decades. I will have to investigate what goes wrong

My test was to put it on rover, throttle down to zero and leave for few days. If you can't recreate that I can try it again with only KSPInterstellar installed to check if that was some weird interaction with other mods
