[BUG] Clozes not working on flashcards #779

Describe the bug When trying to view a flashcard with a cloze deletion the flashcard will just display the text as highlighted. To Reproduce

Tag a file with respective tag that is registered in spaced repetition settings
Add flashcard (does not matter if multiline or one-liner) to note
Highlight random area of flashcard
Highlight won't show up in review panel

Expected behavior I expect there to be a cloze deletion

Versions (please complete the following information):

OS: [Mac OS]
Obsidian version: [v. 1.4.16]
Plugin version: [e.g. v1.4.9]
If on desktop, Installer version: 1.4.16

Additional context I have tried to change the cloze method to curly braces and also to but neither of these have worked

Might be helpful if you could also include:

the raw text of the flashcard (as text, not as a screenshot).
a screenshot of the relevant OSR settings, i.e.

Hi I have exactly the same problem. But I think that I just misunderstood the concept. Are clozes supposed to be in flashcards that have standard answers? Is this the correct format?

What i was trying to do is three flashcards inside one line. But it's really unnessesary, so I now have two inline flashcards, and it works totally fine for me. I think that issue can be closed.

Hi @MrStafeev

Yes you are correct... cloze cards can't be used in conjunction with other card types.

But you can have multiple cloze in a single card. E.g.

==foreign language== verb ==verb forms== definition ==definition==

This will appear as 3 separate cards, each card showing 2 of the clozes and hiding one.

If you find this approach useful, look into the "bury sibling" option as well.
